First and foremost, let this be on the list of HUGE DISNEY RUMORS, and go from there.
With all the talk of Star Wars Land and/or Cars Land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in years to come; many rumors are floating around as to where they could end up and what attractions could be taken out. One of the newest thoughts or rumors or ideas is that the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights could end up being on the outs.
One report even states that this could happen as soon as next year and the Osborne Lights might not return in 2014.
As of now, there has been no confirmation on Star Wars Land or Cars Land or Monstroplis coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at all, but there is some strong talk.
Now, if some of those rumors and that talk comes true…then where would the Osborne Lights even go? Years ago, the Backlot Tour street which was home to the “Golden Girls'” home and other buildings, was closed and shut down. That already took a large portion of the Osborne Lights away.
If these major changes come to areas near Lights, Motor, Action and MuppetVision 3D…then the Osborne Lights would be limited to merely New York Street. That, in itself, almost doesn’t seem worth the time or money.
Then again…who knows what will happen. One “strong” rumor going around was that the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground was on the way out too, but now that will be undergoing a two-and-a-half month refurbishment later this year. Why give something an overhaul…only to remove it a year later?
None the less, this is the latest rumor floating around. Please remember…RUMOR!
