More On Rumored Opening Date Of ‘Frozen Ever After’ Attraction At Epcot – Confirmation?

Last week, we got a lot of news on the Frozen-themed attraction coming to Walt Disney World. We know that it will be called Frozen Ever After and a lot of details about the new attraction taking over for Maelstrom at Epcot were revealed. Now, we also got a rumored opening date and we may actually have some confirmation now.

frozen ever after opening date

The rumors about the opening date said that it would possibly be on May 1, 2016. All we’ve ever gotten from Disney is “Spring 2016” or “Mid-2016,” but nothing more than that. As always, rumors are nothing more than rumors until Disney gives word.

While Disney hasn’t officially said anything yet, the official Walt Disney World Refurbishment List (click the link for an identical list) has now been updated with an interesting date.

– Re-Imagination of Maelstrom: Oct. 15, 2014 – Apr. 30, 2016

As we know, the last day of Maelstrom was actually Oct. 5, 2014. As of Oct. 6, 2014, it was closed for good and never to reopen as it was.

It appears as if the makeover to Frozen Ever After will last until at least April 30, 2016. Now, that doesn’t mean that May 1, 2016 will be the actual opening day, but it could happen that way.

Please note that dates are subject to change at any notice and things could be delayed or anything like that. We also have to take into account the possibility of a soft opening, a grand opening date, and all of that.

For now though, we may be able to look at May of 2016 for when we’ll all be able to experience Frozen Ever After for the first time in forever….err, ever.

I love Frozen ever after! I would like to see Frozen ever after in December 2015! I would love it!

The Maelstrom is so classic, and they want to replace it with a frozen ride? It seems like frozen is taking over the whole park, ruining the atmosphere for adults who have been before, and enjoy the classic magical feel, and for tweens and teens who dont really care about frozen.
