About a month ago, it was reported here at Doctor Disney that MagicBands could be purchased at select locations without having to automatically link them to a Walt Disney World ticket. Very soon, the amount of locations to buy MagicBands will soon be expanded and include some off-Disney property as well.
That’s right.
As locations across Walt Disney World property begin to be added for where MagicBands can be purchased without linking to a MyDisneyExperience account, they will also be added off property.
Some of those locations include Disney Stores at hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd near Downtown Disney, Florida Outlet Malls, and at Orlando International Airport.
The Disney Store Online does carry some accessories for MagicBands, but doesn’t actually carry the bands themselves for purchase. At least, not yet.
Please note a few things:
- MagicBands for sale are $12.95 plus tax
- Only solid color bands are for sale. Limited edition and graphic MagicBands can not be sold without linking to a MyDisneyExperience account.
- Touch-To-Pay options are only available to those staying at at Walt Disney World Resort.
To start out, MagicBands were available as stand-alone purchase items at:
- All four Disney Parks
- Downtown Disney
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Look for them in more locations around Walt Disney World and off property as well, in the near future.
