The Maelstrom to Frozen rumors at Epcot are getting stronger by the day, and there is no real confirmation either way. Still, it’s seeming more and more like things are leading to a “Frozen”-themed ride at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. As of this morning, there’s now another hint that has shown up online and it alludes to Maelstrom soon being a thing of the past.
Yep. Disney Store Online released a new Classic Attraction Tee that is available for purchase through Aug. 7, 2014, and it is for Maelstrom.
That’s correct…Maelstrom is being listed as a “classic attraction,” which it is, but that just seems extremely foreboding. Remember back in November when there was an array of Horizons tee-shirts released? Yeah, me too…because I bought all three of them.
Mind you, Horizons has been closed since early 1999.
Now, there is this limited-edition tee which sells for $24.95, and is quite awesome.
The front has the face of the Viking on it with the name of the attraction and the phrase, “You are not the first to pass this way, nor shall you be the last.”
The back of the Maelstrom shirt has the classic “Walt Disney World” logo and even says “EPCOT CENTER” as well. That’s also incredibly awesome.
Making it even more amazing is that the eye of the Viking glows in the dark, just like in the Maelstrom attraction.
Let it be known that this is a shirt that has already found its way into my collection. Well, I hopped on Disney Store Online and bought it already and am impatiently awaiting the 4-6 week delivery time.
Maybe it’s a hint…maybe it isn’t…but I’ve got a bad feeling that Maelstrom won’t be around a whole lot longer, and that’s upsetting. Hopefully, this is just a really cool shirt that is coming out for a pretty awesome attraction and nothing more.
