As we all know, there are some MagicBands dedicated and themed around Disney’s “Frozen” currently at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They represent Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, but it now appears as if there is a fourth one, and it puts a different twist on one of the characters.
Doctor Disney reader Ethan pointed out to me that a brand new limited edition Olaf MagicBand was released at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as of Friday, Aug. 1, 2014.
You can see that it is green with an interesting looking twist in the drawing of Olaf and he is “Chillin’ In The Sunshine.”
The band is said to be limited to an edition size of 5,000, and once they’re sold out entirely, then they’re gone for good.
UPDATE per Ethan: “I can confirm in Star Tours it turns blue/green and Olaf sings “in summmmerrr” when the FP+ touch point is touched. Just did it.”
With that being said, it is thought that these Olaf MagicBands may make a special noise and bring a different light-up color when touching it to MyMagic+ touch-points. If that’s the case, then they are like the Star Wars Weekends MagicBands.
The new Olaf band is available in Wanderin’ Oaken’s Trading Post, and likely to be priced at $29.95 each. The limited edition Star Wars bands were $29.95 and did the special noises.
The current Frozen MagicBands are priced at $19.95, but don’t do any special noises or change the touch-points to different colors.
I’ve personally not been over there today and have yet to see the new Olaf MagicBands. This is information passed onto me by a reader, and the extra information is not anything I’ve had confirmed as of yet.
