There is a whole lot of work happening over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom over the course of the next few years, and Disney is already anticipating much bigger crowds. With that being said, they will need more parking spots at the park and that is about to happen.
The refurbishment of the Animal Kingdom parking lot is about to begin and it will greatly expand the parking area for guests to give them more spots.
At the rear of the parking lot at Animal Kingdom is a grassy area that will be paved over and transformed into more spots.

The parking lot at Animal Kingdom is going to remain open and there has been no word as to whether or not any areas will be closed at any point. Work is expected to be completed by sometime in Sept. of 2014.
A lot of work is going to be taking place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom over the course of the next few years with AVATAR Land aka Pandora, a nighttime version of Kilimanjaro Safaris, the expansion of Disney Outfitters, and the creation of the “Rivers of Light” nighttime show.
Much larger crowds are expected over this time and especially once all is completed.
