The Hijinks Are Over – Whispering Canyon Cafe At Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Officially Changes

Walt Disney World is always changing and looking to bring new offerings to their guests, but sometimes, that way of doing things means taking something away. After a lot of speculation on social media lately, it has been confirmed that Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is changing.

That’s right…the hijinks are gone.

There has been a lot of talk on Twitter and Facebook in the last few days, and Disney has now confirmed what many feared. Whispering Canyon Cafe was always so well known for the “shenanigans” that the servers would take part in with their guests, but those have come to an end.

The official Twitter account of Walt Disney World Today confirmed it to multiple people, and there was not a lot of info given.

As you can see, until Disney is ready to announce something official for Whispering Canyon, this is likely all that we will get.

So far, the official website of Walt Disney World has not changed anything regarding Whispering Canyon Cafe. It even still says that servers are known for “sassing customers” and even mentions the infamous “ketchup.”

Guess there will be no more screaming “KETCHUP!” and having 50 bottles brought to your table. It now appears as if you can eat The Skillet without interruption…but, who wants to do that?

There has not yet been any word on what new “offerings” may come at the restaurant inside of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

The responses given when asked about the changes to Whispering Canyon are essentially identical to what was said when Disney was asked about discontinuing Night of Joy.

As a long time patron from opening of The Magic Kingdom and an Annual Pass holder I and my family have been noticing the changes going on in all the Parks.
You are removing attractions that were enjoyable to those of us who can’t tolerate violent shaking and nausea causing rides replacing them.
The Parks are disgusting and filthy to say the least.
The bathrooms are not kept clean and the Corporate Greed is ridiculous.
The more we pay the less we get.
If things do not improve we will seriously rethink renewing our annual passes.

Amen to that. I agree 100%. You hit the nail on the head with your corporate greed comment. I noticed how filthy the parks have gotten as well. The food portions are smaller, lines are longer. Horrible customer service, just horrible. Why change something if there’s nothing wrong with it?? Especially if many people love it. I found myself saying the same thinking about renewing our passes as well.

What is going on? Disney…please!!! I CAN”T TAKE MUCH MORE!! Stop this insanity!!

  3. NO JUST NO!!!!!!! Little by little you are taking the uniqueness out of Disney.

Always brought “newbies” here. No more reason to go. I find myself going outside the park to eat especially, more and more. Plus Universal is really taking things seriously, although the food there is even worse (except for one place at Universal Studios. Makes me sad to be honest.
