We’ve been waiting for a date when we could finally dine with the Muppets…or at least be served by a couple of rats. PizzeRizzo at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a new quick-service dining location, finally has an opening date set and it’s a lot sooner than you may think.
It has now been confirmed that the former Pizza Planet will turn into a New York pizza joint with…”the best pizza on the planet” and it is set to open next month. Yes, PizzeRizzo is going to open in Muppets Courtyard on Nov. 18, 2016.
Per the Disney Parks Blog:
“Pizza lovers, rejoice! PizzeRizzo will open this fall in Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, in the former Toy Story Pizza Planet location. Rizzo The Rat owns and operates the pizzeria, where guests can grab a pizza pie and a cold drink. Enjoy a casual Italian-American dining experience in a whole new way, through the eyes of the lovable, wisecracking Muppet.
Walt Disney Imagineering hid hints of Rizzo, his extended family and friends who have visited PizzeRizzo over the years throughout the two-story quick-service location. In addition to the expansive indoor and outdoor seating area, guests will be able to dine in a ‘cheesy’ banquet room, or take five in a special booth designated just for Rizzo’s celebrity friends.”
Not only will all of that happen, but in that upstairs banquet hall, there’s a wedding reception in progress and you’re invited to dance under the disco ball.
PizzeRizzo will, of course, have personal-sized pizzas in flavors of cheese, pepperoni, meat lovers, and vegetable. A Meatball Sub will be on the menu as well as an Antipasto Salad and some great desserts such as Tiramisu and Cannoli.
Don’t forget to try PizzeRizzo’s speciality drinks as well like the Peach Bellini and the Wildberry-Basil Lemonade Limoncello. Beer and wine will also be available for adults.
