It was confirmed today that the Disneyland Forever fireworks will be changing to Fantasy In The Sky come September and only taking place on weekends for some time. Now, it has been revealed that the Paint the Night Parade will indeed conclude after Sept. 5, 2016, as well.
UPDATE – 5:25 p.m. – I tweeted out to the official Disneyland Twitter account for clarification and received this message:
“‘Disneyland Forever’ is a fireworks spectacular created for the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration. When the celebration concludes on September 5, the show will end, but we may bring the technology to other shows in the future. The popular ‘Fantasy in the Sky’ fireworks show will return to the Disneyland Resort following the end of the Diamond Celebration. ‘World of Color — Celebrate!’ will conclude September 5, and the original ‘World of Color’ show will return to Disney California Adventure Park. ‘Paint the Night’ parade also will conclude September 5.”

When asked “why?” by another Twitter user, the official Disneyland Twitter account said, “These shows were created specifically for the Diamond Celebration, in honor of the resort’s 60th birthday.”
It was announced earlier on Tuesday that the Disneyland Forever fireworks will end as of Sept. 5, 2016, which is the close of the Disneyland 60th Anniversary as well.
The new Fantasy in the Sky fireworks will take place on Friday through Sunday evenings (weekends) beginning on Sept. 9, 2016.
On Sept. 6, 2016, the original version of World of Color will also return to Disney California Adventure.
There has not been any word as of yet as to a replacement for the Paint the Night parade or the exact reasoning for these major changes except for the “ending of the 60th celebration.”
