One of Disney’s most popular animated films is being turned into an animated series, and it’s bringing the stars with it. The Disney Channel has ordered an animated series of Tangled with the returns of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi included.
The last time we saw our fun-loving duo of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider was in the 2012 short film Tangled Ever After which took place on their wedding day. Now, the Disney Channel is bringing forth the new animated series set to debut in 2017.
It’s going to take place after the animated featured, but before their wedding day short film.
Per the Disney press release:
“Her irrepressible spirit and natural curiosity about the world drives her to the realization that there is so much more she needs to learn before she can truly accept her royal destiny. She boldly puts her crown and impending marriage on hold to seek out epic adventures, much to the dismay of the King who, after missing out on Rapunzel’s youth, must accept that his daughter is now an independent young woman.”
Rapunzel will be joined by Flynn, Maximus, Pascal, and a number of the “thugs” from the Snuggly Duckling. A new character named Cassandra will join things as well, and she will be a close friend of Rapunzel.
