Those heading out to have a family-style meal in Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom will have to wait. The Liberty Tree Tavern restaurant will indeed be closing for a rather long refurbishment later in 2015.
Liberty Tree Tavern will close for refurbishment beginning on July 6, 2015. It is set to be closed through Nov. 19, 2015.
As of now, Liberty Tree Tavern is tentatively scheduled to reopen to all Guests beginning on Nov. 20, 2015.
It’s not entirely known what will be done to the restaurant or why it’s being closed for such a long period of time.
While not confirmed, it is believed that Liberty Tree Tavern could be undergoing a refurbishment to make it more ADA compliant. The same was done with Memento Mori early in 2014 when it was still the Yankee Trader.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.

I’m not surprised. The only restrooms are up a narrow flight of steps and are *tiny*. I just hope they don’t ‘refurb’ away all the charm!
Hopefully they are fixing the bathroom situation there. It’s terrible.
this is disappointing timing.. it is one of our favorites, and we are scheduled to fly home on the 21st.. so it looks like I am going back to the drawing board to plan out our dinners.. good thing there is plenty of time to plan..
but yes.. when I ate there last, I was surprised at the bathroom situation in this day and age, especially with a company as progressive as Disney..
I just tried to make a DAR for liberty tree after November 21st and no luck. Any idea when DAR will open up?

Disney Dining told us that they are not taking reservations before January until the refurb is completely done (so ostensibly Nov. 21).
I believe one of the major changes is that LTT will now share a kitchen with the new Adventureland Skipper’s Cantina restuarant.
Actually, those reservations are probably already gone. I’ve got an ADR on Nov. 21 and one on Nov. 26 as well.
Wow, that’s awesome! How did you make your reservation? I’m aiming for a December ADR and can’t get one via the website nor Disney Dining.
