Some interesting talk and rumors are going around after some big news was revealed on Oct. 9, 2014, thanks to an omission from runDisney. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler weekend just passed, but it doesn’t appear on the calendar of events for 2015 and that could mean big changes really are on the way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Actually, according to No Guilt Life, there was a tweet sent out by runDisney that insinuated it wouldn’t be included and that also the Expedition Everest Challenger for 2016 would be gone as well. That tweet has since been deleted, but the full 2015 calendar has been released and the Tower of Terror 10-miler is not there.
While it’s already known that changes are coming with both American Idol Experience and Studio Backlot Tour gone along with construction now happening in Soundstage One, nothing has been confirmed.
It’s very possible that the exclusion of the Tower of Terror 10-Miler means there could be some big construction happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With rumors of Star Wars Land, an expanded Pixar Place, Cars, Land, and a host of others…well, anything is possible.
Again, the loss of the Tower of Terror 10-Miler does not mean anything else at this time except that the race isn’t being run in 2015.
Why is it not being run?
That’s the big mystery and one that is going to surely bring about many assumptions, many rumors, and many thoughts as to what is happening at DHS. But that is something that will have to actually be figured out as time goes on and when Disney officially announces something.
