Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Evacuated Due To Report of A Fire

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge evacuationA full-on evacuation of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge at the Walt Disney World Resort is being reported by guests that are currently staying there. This is as of 6:45 p.m. on the evening of Monday, Sept. 15, 2014.

UPDATE at 12:00 A.M.: There was indeed a fire at Jambo House, and the cause of it is currently still under investigation. Guests were outside about an hour and 45 minutes before being given the all-clear to return inside. Around 60 minutes into the evacuation, Cast Members at Animal Kingdom Lodge began handing out bottles of water to guests, but still not giving a lot of information.

No injuries were reported, and most of the lodge was evacuated after the fire alarm went off. It was mostly done to get all the smoke out per the Reedy Creek Fire & Rescue Departments.

Those I know personally are telling me that the entire resort of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is being reported to what some are saying is a fire. Guests on the scene are stating that they are not able to smell any burning or a fire smell inside of the resort, but they are once they reach the outside and front of the resort.

Cast Members are said to be “very calm” and directing all guests and all others to “exit out the front doors” of Animal Kingdom Lodge and await further instructions.

These are direct reports from guests currently staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and nothing seems incredibly serious at this time. Not all information is known though and I’m trying to find out anything else I can.

Still awaiting more word at this time on the reported fire and evacuation at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and see what else is going on.

UPDATE at 7:00 P.M.: Cast Members and guests are saying that the smell of fire is still in the air outside and in front, but “it appears to be contained.”

UPDATE at 7:30 P.M.: It appears whatever the case may have been, all is under control. Some Cast Members have started going back in the building and things are being thoroughly checked out so that an all-clear can be given soon.

UPDATE at 7:35 P.M.: Guests are still outside in the front of DAK Lodge and some out by the pool area too. Reports are that the fire was in one of the side lodge buildings and Disney is simply waiting on the all-clear from the fire department.
