With the growing requests for allergy-friendly items around Walt Disney World, something is being done about it. Disney has introduced new allergy-friendly menus at select restaurants, and they are in a trial run over the course of the next month and a half.
The restaurants taking part in the allergy-friendly menu test will run with them from Sept. 9, 2014, through Oct. 20, 2014. Those dates are subject to change as with any test and trial.
For the time being, allergy-friendly menus will be able to be found at :
- World Premiere Food Court – Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
- Flying Fish Cafe – Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
- Kona Cafe – Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Capt. Cooks – Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- ABC Commissary – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- The Hollywood Brown Derby – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
In the past, an allergy-friendly menu request would mean the chef would come to your table to discuss options for your dining experience. These new menus will mean that it won’t be necessary for chefs to come out to the table and therefore cut down wait times while dining.
For guests still wanting to meet with the chef regarding an allergy, that option will still be available if requested to your host or hostess.
