Every year, both Walt Disney World water parks undergo winter refurbishments to keep them in great working order and clean them up from top to bottom. Well, the dates for the next set of refurbishments are now set and in place so make sure to plan your trips accordingly.
Typhoon Lagoon will be closing as of Oct. 26, 2014, and it will be closed through Jan. 3, 2015. It is tentatively scheduled to reopen to all guests on Jan. 4, 2015.
Blizzard Beach will be closing on Jan. 4, 2015, and staying closed through March 14, 2015. It is tentatively scheduled to reopen to all guests on March 15, 2014.
As you can see, Disney likes to plan the water park refurbishments one right after the other. This is done to have as little down time as possible without both parks being accessible.
Please remember that refurbishment dates are subject to change at any time. Disney has been known to shorten or lengthen refurbishment dates of attractions and parks so always be aware that these are confirmed but have flexibility.
