There are going to be a lot of refurbishments at Walt Disney World this fall, but there are two that are currently in question and no real confirmation can be found about them at this time. These two refurbishments are actually happening at the Magic Kingdom, but I can’t quite find confirmation as to whether or not they are actually happening.
The strange thing is that neither of these refurbishments are officially listed by Disney at all.
If you check out the My Disney Experience website or app, and if you try to get FASTPass+ reservations for Enchanted Tales with Belle, it will not let you. The option is grayed out, and it will not let you choose it. It even has the red type stating that the attraction will be undergoing refurbishment on that day.
Checking out as far as I could – to Oct. 24, 2014, Enchanted Tales with Belle is unavailable for a FASTPass+ reservation through then. It actually has already started as well and won’t let you make them for the rest of August and all of September. The thing is, the attraction is still open and I saw it as such just two days ago.
UPDATE: As of the morning of Aug. 20, 2014, Enchanted Tales with Belle is now showing as available for FP+ throughout August. There are a few days in September and some in October still blacked out for refurbishment though. It’s odd, but thinking it could be a glitch.
The other questionable refurbishment is that of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. Some reports have it being closed from Sept. 28, 2014, through Oct. 3, 2014.
Again, this is another refurbishment that Disney does not have officially listed or announced.
Tiki Room has had a lot of work done over the past few months and walls were up along the entire surrounding outside of the attraction for a long time. As of this past weekend, those walls were all down and the touch-ups, repainting, and more could be seen.
As for Tiki Room, it was also open this past weekend and there has been no word of an upcoming refurbishment at any time.
At least now you’ll be somewhat prepared if either refurbishment happens.
Only time will tell, but it appears as if a glitch in the system is affecting the FASTPass+ availability for Enchanted Tales with Belle. The Tiki Room refurbishment still remains to be seen.
I noticed the FP+ glitch yesterday morning with Enchanted Tales. I have a FP but it was showing closed when I went in to tweak my choices. I immediately called Disney at 7:00 am Eastern and talked to the CM. She checked all the refurb and closure lists. I explained that Internet sites were going crazy with speculation and frustration. She responded by assuring me my FP would be good and Belle would be open. She said she would take it to management right away to have them fix it. I don’t know if the timing was coincidental but within a couple hours the attraction was back to normal for all my days in October.
