Astro Orbiter Reopening Date Pushed Back A Week In September

Astro Orbiter refurbishmentThe reopening date for the Astro Orbiter after the lengthy refurbishment it is currently going through has been pushed back. Seems there was more work that needed to be done at the Magic Kingdom than expected.

The refurbishment of Astro Orbiter began back on June 2, 2014, and it was originally scheduled to run through Sept. 19, 2014. Now, there is an extra week that has been added onto the end of the refurbishment shift.

Astro Orbiter is now scheduled to have its refurbishment run through Sept. 27, 2014.

It is tentatively scheduled to reopen on Sept. 28, 2014.

Please note that dates are always subject to change, as is already evident, and these dates are confirmed, but not 100% set in stone.

It was revealed about a week ago that the refurbishment for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover would also be extended. It was scheduled to reopen on Aug. 5, 2014, but word from sources state that it will continue for at least two more weeks.
