Cast Member previews of Festival of The Lion King are to take place on Friday, May 30, 2014, and the hope is that the very popular attraction would reopen to all guests soon. Well, that hope is going to be realized as Disney has now confirmed the opening date and it is very soon.
Festival of The Lion King is going to reopen in Disney’s Animal Kingdom on June 1, 2014.
It will be in its brand new home in Africa, the Harambe Theatre.
The new Harambe Theatre will host the Festival of The Lion King, and it will be exactly the same show that was originally held over in Camp Minnie-Mickey. Now, FASTPass+ will be made available for each of the daily shows which begin at 10:00 a.m. and are on the hour.
There will also be a new merchandise location named Mariya’s which will be part of the new Harambe Theatre. It will sell merchandise for “The Lion King.”
As of now, June 1, 2014, will be the reopening date for Festival of The Lion King, but please know that this is subject to change.
