Info, Details, and Steps For Making Fourth FASTPass+ Selection and Park Hopping

FASTPass+ park hoppingJust a short time ago, it was officially announced by Disney big-up Tom Staggs that the fourth (and beyond) FASTPass+ reservation and park hopping would officially begin on Monday, April 28, 2014. Many questions are already flooding in regarding the entire situation, and I’ve got some answers for you.

On Monday, Doctor Disney is going to head out to the parks to experience the entire new system personally, and then write up a full report about the extra FPs and park hopping.

But some more info has already come my way, and here are some things you’ve been asking and want to know.

Can I make my fourth and fifth and sixth and so on FASTPass+ selections on the My Disney Experience app?

Guests will be able to make one additional selection at a time, based on availability. After they redeem that additional selection, they can go to a FastPass+ kiosk to make another selection, and so on. (The additional FastPass+ selections must be made at a kiosk only.)

I want to get a FASTPass+ selection for an attraction I already had a FP for, earlier in the day. Can I do that?

Guests will be able to make their additional selection(s) for an experience at which they already redeemed a FastPass+ selection earlier that day.

From what is understood so far, this means – for example – you can already have a Tier One FP+ selection at Disney’s Hollywood Studios…say, Toy Story Mania. Once you have used that FP+ selection and your other two at DHS, you can then do some park hopping to say…Epcot, and reserve a FP+ selection in Tier One there for something such as Illuminations or Soarin’.

That is, if they are available.

Once I’ve finished all my FASTPasses at one park, if I’ve got park hopping tickets, can I then get selections over another?

Guests with valid park-hopping privileges will be able to make their additional selection(s) at another park. Those selections must be made at a kiosk in the park where the desired experience is located.

Can I experience park hopping with my first three FASTPass selections?

At this time, no. For now, your first three FP+ selections must be made at one park and then you can choose to make your additional selections at your current park or one of the other three.

There are bound to be more questions to be answered, but there will be more info coming mid-day on Monday once I’ve experienced the whole thing personally.

Thank you for the updates. Do you know if you have to use all 3 fast passes before you can book the 4th, 5th, and 6th fast passes? Or can you book the 4th after you use the first, then the 5th after you use the 2nd, and the 6th after you use the third. I need to know this because I reserved our third fast pass for the evening. So, if I need to wait to book 3 more until after I use the third, then I need to change my evening fast pass for an earlier time. Thank you!

    • You need to use all of your first three FASTPass+ selections before even thinking about getting a fourth. Then, you have to use your fourth before getting your fifth.

      • There is a major flaw in this process from day 1 of launch. If I have a FP+ for a night firework show or parade how can I honestly use all my FP+ before getting a new one or am I out of luck?

        • It’s not a flaw and Disney is aware of this, and it is the way the system is set up. If you have a FP selection for Wishes or a late parade or Fantasmic or late attraction, then you will not be able to get a fourth selection until it has completed.

if I skip using one of my original 3 fp’s can I book a 4th after the appropriate time has passed?

  3. What if you use one fastpass (let’s say for Soarin) and then see that you can do the other rides before your window closes on the other two (maybe the lines are just not that long). Can you cancel those two and then make other fastpasses as you park hop to another park? Or, do you still have to wait?

    • You can cancel and make changes, but not at another park. You would have to wait until your first three are up or if you make more and those are up. If you use your Soarin’ FP right when it starts at say…3pm, then you cannot use or make another until 4pm.
