An interesting rumor has been making the rounds lately, and there isn’t a whole lot of validity to it yet, but the possibility is there. Word is that Epcot could end up getting their own Disney Vacation Club Resort sometime in the future.
Now, this is something that has been rumored before, but it has started to pick up a bit of steam lately.
Disney has made no official mention of Epcot getting a DVC, but that wouldn’t be expected until everything is confirmed and in place, anyway.
The rumors going around are that the DVC Resort for Epcot could come past the International Gateway entrance/exit in World Showcase. You know, at the start of the walkway toward Yacht and Beach, Swan and Dolphin, and Boardwalk.
Upon checking with a few sources that Doctor Disney has, this DVC Resort at Epcot has/is being discussed, but it is still in the early planning stages. There is a lot to be talked about and gone through before even moving forward.
This comes as an interesting rumor because a DVC Resort has been rumored for Disney’s Hollywood Studios for at least the past five or six years. As you can see though, that rumor has never come into existence, and has now moved on to Epcot.
With the Polynesian getting their new DVC Villas currently built, breaking ground on another new resort may not officially come for some time.
Again, these are rumors…RUMORS…and there has been nothing confirmed. Yes, it could be built by International Gateway. It could be built at the front of Epcot. It could be built by Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
This is a report of rumors and word going around. Nothing is confirmed as has been stated already.
Not sure what rumors you are reading, but the “Spirited” Epcot DVC is rumored to be toward the front of the park and have its own entrance to the park. I’ve seen no credible source locating it at International Gateway.
