Disney Springs to Get New Restaurant Where 8TRAX, Mannequins Used To Be In Pleasure Island

Disney SpringsThere are going to be a lot of  changes coming to the Downtown Disney / Disney West Side area over the next few years as it transitions to Disney Springs, but specific new info is popping up. One of the new restaurants coming will take over two old Pleasure Island nightclubs to form a giant eatery.

Save Pleasure Island reported that both the Mannequins Dance Palace and 8TRAX are going to be combined into one location for a restaurant that will be operated by the Patina Restaurant Group of Los Angeles.

This is the same restaurant group that operates two fan-favorites from Epcot – Via Napoli and Tutto Italia. Nothing wrong with spreading the wealth out to Disney Springs.

While the exact type of restaurant hasn’t yet been determined for the old Pleasure Island locations, Patina has listed a few options. There could obviously be a new Italian restaurant, but there is also the possibility of a steakhouse.

Work permits have been released to show that the connected venues will consist of building “two floors, a new dining area, kitchen [and] cast and guest restrooms.”

As of now, there isn’t much more known about what is coming to Disney Springs, but it will be interesting to see what else is coming our way. At least we know there will be some great places to eat. The entire project is expected to be done sometime in 2016, but there is still a lot of work to do in order to transform Downtown Disney and Disney’s West Side.

that’s awesome news! I love that it

  2. Yes there is something very wrong with this. They closed Mannequins Dance Palace and it sat empty for 5 1/2 years just so another restaurant could go in there. There are plenty of other places they could have put this restaurant. As if Disney didn’t have enough restaurants already. Mannequins was one of if not THE best dance clubs in the country. This is a disgrace.

  3. Bring back Mannequins Dance Palace.

  4. I miss Pleasure Island. I miss Mannequins Dance Palace. For me personally, nothing Disney does to that property will be any good.
