Big Thunder Mountain at the Disneyland Resort has been closed for months and months, but guests will soon be able to experience it again. The good thing is that the long wait will be worth it as the refurbishments are incredible.
Set to open on March 17, 2014, Big Thunder Mountain has added some great new special effects that are absolutely phenomenal.
Cast Members have already previewed the attraction and it will soon have an opening for Annual Passholders before the general public gets to experience it.
The finale is the true test of change as explosions, fire, and falling rocks come down on all those riding on the attraction.
Other changes include a much smoother ride throughout as many had complained that it was far too rough and just overly painful at times to ride it.
One of the cool things is that the new special effects will not be able to be experienced in just one ride-through. You’ll have to ride it multiple times to witness them all.
