Another Disney vacation scam page pops up on Facebook: Don’t be fooled, here are the signs of scams

Disney vacation scamsWe’ve got yet another Facebook page that is trying to scam good people into believing that they have the chance to win a trip to Disneyland or Walt Disney World. Don’t be fooled by these pages and in order to make sure you’re not, Doctor Disney is going to break it down.

First of all, remember the “Delta Airlines.” page from earlier this month that was “giving away” a Walt Disney World vacation? Oddly enough, that Facebook page doesn’t even exist anymore.

Now, here is the newest scam page: Walt Disney Land Summer 2013.

Let’s break this down so we know what to look for in the scam department:

1.) Where on earth is “Walt Disney Land?”

2.) The URL for the page has a return of “www.facebook.com/laadisneylannddssee” – What kind of name is that anyway? Don’t you think that – if it was official – Disney would have a URL that made sense?

3.) As of 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, the page was created less than 24 hours ago. New pages on Facebook that are created to strictly give something away are almost always a fraud.

4.) Don’t you think that the Walt Disney Company, or anyone else that is legitimate, knows “Disneyland” is just one word?

5.) Look at the picture associated with this contest that the page wants you to share. It shows some Key to the World cards that have a trip beginning in Dec. 2010 and ending in Dec. 2015.

So, not only did this trip begin three years ago, but it ends in two years, and somehow…someone got to spend five straight years at a Walt Disney Resort. Amazing.

Don’t fall for these things, folks. Don’t share them and let these types of people get access to your Facebook page or your information or your friends or anything.
