Confirmation on when guests can schedule their Disney FASTPass+ reservations

Disney FASTPass+There has been a lot of discussion going on lately about MagicBands, FASTPass+, and all of the other new technology coming to Walt Disney World. Now, it has been confirmed by Disney as to when FASTPass+ reservations can be made.

Many thought it to be 60 days in advance, but Disney has confirmed that guests that will be using FASTPass+ can make their scheduled times three weeks prior to their trip.

Remember: All of this information can change as the MagicBands and FASTPass+ systems are still in testing phases. Disney is trying out a lot of things with different resorts, guests, and options to make sure that all is in good working order and most beneficial once the full rollout arrives. That is expected to happen by the end of the year.

But for now, those that have been chosen to take part in the MagicBands and FASTPass+ tests can make their FASTPass+ reservations starting three weeks prior to their check-in.

HEADS-UP

Yes, I know that some people have been able to book from 60 days out or 90 days out or 35 days out and the like. But since this is the TESTING phase of things, Disney is changing things up left and right.  As of this morning, different Cast Members, supervisors, and some associated directly with FP+…right now, the scheduling can take place within three weeks of your arrival date.

This could very well be for new trips booked from here on out or trips that haven’t tried to schedule them yet, but it is what Disney is stating.

To test this information, I met with some Disney travel planners that pulled up multiple reservations and advised me that they could NOT book their clients’ FP+ reservations until the three-week period. Yes, they were able to book some earlier though…before today.

One in particular hits the three-week mark on Aug. 24, 2013, and they are not eligible to make their FP+ reservations right now.

Another trip that is coming up in two weeks, the planner COULD make FP+ reservations.

Please keep in mind this is a test…a testing phase and that things have, can, and will change. I’m attempting to keep guests up to date as possible so they know how to do things for their upcoming trips. Once Disney sets everything in stone, then it will be reported as such.

Thank you for understanding and we will go through this whole new technology testing together and learn.

Comments

  1. We have AP and got magicbands during a stay earlier this month. As of right now, I’m able to make FP+ selections through Oct21. (But I can only have FP+ on seven days total – It’ll say I’ve hit the limit when I try the 8th) 3wks does sound like a better plan to me though. It seems like it’s still a big mess!

    • In a nutshell, it is still a bit of a “mess,” Jess. That’s what the testing is for though and hopefully, all will be fixed up by the time the full roll-out happens.

  2. Is it only open for resort guests? What about non-resort guests, with APs, that didn’t get their magicbands? I’ve received nothing about FP+ at all. My last resort stay was 3 months ago, but I just arrived today staying at our family’s house in Windsor Hills. ARGH! Any help?
