Doctor Disney’s “12 Days to Christmas” Countdown: 11 Countries of the Epcot World

On the 11th day until Christmas, Doctor Disney brought to you all…the eleven countries of the “World Showcase” at Epcot.

Not everyone can visit the world as they would most likely want to, so they’ve got to make other plans to see some of the wonders that this great planet has to offer. Whether they read about different countries in books or watch films on the places they’d like to go…knowledge is power, so get it any way you can.

One of my favorite ways to get that knowledge about the world – and also get some great food – is to head over to the World Showcase in Epcot. 11 countries are on display with authentic food, fantastic information, fun attractions, traditional music, and even Cast Members coming directly from their home lands. When traveling the world at Epcot, don’t forget to check out everything because it would be easy to miss some with all there is to offer.

Here is at least one big-time thing from each country pavilion that I’m sure never to miss when at Epcot.

~ Mexico: The San Angel Inn located inside the main temple at this pavilion is some of the best and most authentic Mexican food around. You just can’t get better food with a better view than what is available at San Angel.

~ Norway: Maelstrom is an attraction that not only takes guests through the deep history of Norway, but also brings some unexpected thrills. There are also trolls and you don’t want to ever miss those.

~ China: The Jeweled Dragon Acrobats perform outside – weather permitting – in very limited engagements, and sometimes guests don’t even know it. You’ve got to make sure that you somehow catch one of their shows because they do amazing feats like you wouldn’t even think possible.

Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays
Times: 3:05 p.m., 4:15 p.m., 5:15 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 7:15 p.m.

~ Germany: If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ll want to visit Karamell-Küche because…well, because…alright, there are just no words to even begin to describe some of the great things you can try here. Two of my favorites are the Apple Pie Apple and the Chocolate-Caramel Covered Grapes.

~ Italy: Perhaps, my favorite place to eat in all of Epcot is Via Napoli. It offers some of the most traditional pizza this side of Naples, and has tons of other great dishes. Make sure that you just go in, sit back, and enjoy great food. Make it a point to walk past the pizza ovens too because not only will you see how massive and awesome they are, but also some other great dishes about to go to their anxious tables.

~ America: While there are a number of great things to enjoy in this pavilion, it is The Voices of Liberty that need to be seen and heard so that you can get the full appreciation for their greatness. Get a times guide upon entering Epcot, and don’t miss them.

~ Japan: Some of the best hibachi ever is available at Teppan Edo. Not to mention that the chefs will give you a show right there at your table/grill. Watch out for flying shrimp.

~ Morocco: The six-person musical group known as Mo Rockin’ isn’t just cleverly named, but they have amazing talents. Music from around the world gets a great Moroccan twist and sound while a bellydancer moves perfectly to the beat.

~ France: Ready to activate that sweet tooth again? Pay a visit to the Boulangerie Patisserie because you’ll get to try an assortment of great sweets, cakes, pies, breads, and even cheeses. This authentic French bakery serves up incredible treats, and you can even feel like you’re dining at a cafe directly in the heart of France.

~ United Kingdom: The phone booths that sit outside in this pavilion are very authentic and great for having your pictures taken in or seeing how many of you can squeeze into one. But do yourself a favor and try to use one…or better yet, find out how to call one. Ha!

~ Canada: At the time you are reading this, my suggestion is to get online or on the phone and make a reservation for Le Cellier steakhouse now. You probably won’t get one any time in the next couple months, but grab the first available you see and plan your trip around it. Just trust me.

Tune in later today for the 10th Day to Christmas!
