‘Lost’ Disney Recipe: Figaro Fries from Pinocchio Village Haus

The list of Disney Recipes is not going to be just those dishes that can currently be gotten at the parks, but some that have been lost as well. One of the long-lost Disney dishes that people loved so much is one that isn’t very difficult, but truly missed…and those are Figaro Fries from Pinocchio Village Haus.

Some of you may have no idea what I’m talking about, but Figaro Fries were indeed a real dish at the Magic Kingdom.

They were sold regularly for a number of years at Pinocchio’s, and then started to just make limited-time appearances. Around mid-2010, Figaro Fries finally departed the menu for what seems to be for good.

This recipe for Figaro Fries serves two.

Ingredients

  • 3 handfuls shoestring French Fries (frozen or cut-fresh)
  • 4-6 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup melted cheese sauce or block cheese of preference
  • 2 tbsp milk (optional)
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes (diced)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • Ranch dressing
  • salt to taste
  • vegetable oil

Directions

1.) Heat vegetable oil for fries

2.) Fry bacon in a separate pan until crispy, but not burnt. Break into small crumble-pieces.

3.) Heat up cheese sauce or melt cheese into sauce in small pan or microwave. Mixing in two tablespoons of milk will make the cheese sauce creamier, but that is an optional ingredient.

4.) Fry fries to golden color, take out of oil, drain on paper towels.

5.) Split fries into servings.

6.) Assemble Figaro Fries in this manner:

  • French Fries (add salt as needed)
  • Top with melted cheese
  • Top with shredded lettuce
  • Top with bacon crumbles
  • Top with diced tomatoes
  • Top with Ranch dressing
