The famed Disney attraction will now be closing down July 27-30, 2013, and reopening on July 31, 2013.

It was originally scheduled to be closed June 17-20, 2013, and then reopening on June 21, 2013.

It was originally scheduled to be closed May 28-June 13, 2013 and reopening on June 14 for a quick refurbishment.

There is no word as to when it will be happening.

The deal will run for arrival dates between Aug. 15, 2013 – Sept. 28, 2013. Booking must be done by July 31, 2013.

For those wondering if it will be extended into the further fall and winter months, that is not known at this time. Last year, only late August and September were announced first. Later came October and November, and then even later came December.

If you go to the tip board starting at midday, guests will be able to obtain a FASTPass for Fantasmic! The good thing is that holding one for Fantasmic! will not prevent guests from getting another FASTPass for other attractions.

Disney has announced their next Limited Time Magic, and again…it’s not anything too new or thrilling. It is an Earth Day Celebration for the “Party for the Planet” and also Disney’s Animal Kingdom celebrating its 15th anniversary. It is going to last April 22 through 28, 2013.

Disney Character Dance Party
The party kicks off with a week-long character reunion, where some rarely seen Disney Characters will be making cameo appearances in Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park.

“Dig Up” Something Delicious
The Earth Week celebration continues all across Walt Disney World Resort, where for a limited time, you can “dig in” to a duo of playful desserts.

Head into Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and try out the “Worm and Dirt Cupcake.” Or, travel to Magic Kingdom park or Epcot for a delightfully delicious “Worm and Dirt Tart.”

A Disney cruise ship picked up a group of migrant rafters off the Florida Keys.

Ensign Pete Bermont says the U.S. Guard retrieved five people from the Disney Wonder Tuesday afternoon. Their nationality wasn’t immediately known.

Disney spokeswoman Rebecca Peddie says the Wonder’s crew spotted the single raft about 42 miles south of Key West. The rafters were given food, water and medical attention. No deaths or serious injuries were reported.

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CAL/OSHA) delivered several violation citations to the Disneyland Resort on Saturday for Space Mountain. That resulted in the closing of the three major attractions, but it isn’t clear if Soarin’ and the Matterhorn are related to the same violations.

Some of the findings are simple while others could lead to serious fines. It appears as if more inspections are coming in the next few days.

Total penalties for Space Mountain citations alone could reach over $230,000.

Per The Disney Blog, OSHA had inspectors on site on Sunday morning doing inspections as they were still concerned with employee safety. Numerous attractions had violations and were closed temporarily until fixes could be made.

Finding Nemo is still closed due to a small fire on a sub recently and Big Thunder Mountain is down for rehab so Disneyland is currently struggling.

Inside the Magic reported that the rumored two new ships in the fleet will not be happening, but the makeover of two current ships is likely going to go down.

Recent invitations for Walt Disney World’s “Monstrous Summer” press event specifically name “Disney Cruise Line news.” There was nothing more said about that, but the announcement will likely be some major upgrades coming to both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder.

Some of the things that could be coming are possibly sprucing up the restaurants, touching up everything, and maybe even adding in the AquaDuck.

A while back, the unofficial Disney Cruise Line blog showed some possible pieces of concept art for what the updates may look like.

The Disney Magic is scheduled for a six-week refurbishment after the summer season. The Disney Wonder has an update coming in 2014.

This is exciting news and confirmation will come when the announcement event happens on April 25-26, 2013.

Doctor Disney will be heading out for a 14-day cruise on the Disney Wonder in May, so it will be interesting to know the official info by then and see what changes will be coming.
