Disney Junior is about to get even cuter, if that’s even possible, and it is due to Disney announcing a reboot of Muppet Babies is in the works.

In the late ’80s and early ’90s, Muppet Babies was on the air and brought our favorite characters back to the nursery. Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and many others had great adventures and played games as Miss Nanny watched over them.

Well, Disney Junior will begin airing the Muppet Babies reboot sometime in early 2018 and it will feature the return of all your favorite Muppets as well as Miss Nanny.

The new show will be a CG-animated series that will target viewers between the ages of four and seven. Now, they obviously don’t realize that this then 38-year-old will be enjoying it daily as well.

Each new episode of Muppet Babies will have two 11-minute short stories where the characters use their imaginations to “take them to the farthest corners of the universe.” It seems as if Disney Junior is bringing them back with a new look, but also just how they used to be many years ago.

“We are proud, and a little bit giddy, to begin production on our new version of the much-loved Muppet Babies,” says Nancy Kanter, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and General Manager, Disney Junior Worldwide. “Parents will delight in seeing their favorite Muppets in the mixed animation style they remember from the original series, and kids will be introduced to this warm and zany world made just right for the Disney Junior audience.”

For those that may not remember it or missed out on ever hearing it, let’s get the original theme song stuck in your head.
