The 45th anniversary of Walt Disney World and Magic Kingdom is quickly approaching, but no-one has known just what would be taking place on that actual day. Well, the schedule is now known and as expected, there isn’t much.
On Oct. 1, 2016, Walt Disney World will celebrate its 45th anniversary, and many have been asking about the events for that day. Considering it is just a week away now, don’t expect anything huge.
There is going to be a short presentation or speech on the forecourt stage of Cinderella Castle beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET. It’s not known exactly what this will entail, but if it’s anything like the 40th anniversary, it will include higher-ups from Disney, a number of characters, and a short speech.
45th anniversary-themed food items will be available at both the Main Street Bakery/Starbucks and in Gaston’s Tavern.
The 45th anniversary merchandise that was shown by the Disney Parks Blog will be available throughout the park. A limited release t-shirt commemorating the day will be available for purchase at the Emporium on Main Street.
As expected, there is not going to be a lot for this anniversary, and that’s exactly the way it was for the 40th in 2011. It seems as if Disney is waiting for the 50th in 2021 to really go all out…maybe…hopefully.
