Many have been waiting and now the winter refurbishment dates for the Walt Disney World water parks appears to be in place. This year, Blizzard Beach is closing first again with Typhoon Lagoon closing second.
Blizzard Beach is scheduled to close beginning on Oct. 23, 2016, and stay closed through Dec. 24, 2016. It is tentatively set to reopen to Guests on Christmas Day.
Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to close beginning on Dec. 25, 2016, and stay closed through March 11, 2017. It is currently set to reopen to Guests on March 12, 2017.
Typhoon being closed for a long period of time could be to bring in the new family raft ride that has been reported but not yet confirmed by Disney.
