Food Court At Port Orleans French Quarter Closing Soon For Long Refurbishment

It’s happened with a number of the food courts at other resorts in the last couple of years and now, it’s coming to Port Orleans French Quarter. Beginning next month, the refurbishment is set to last for a number of months so be prepared.

The refurbishment of the Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory is set to begin on July 11, 2016, and it is set to continue into the fall. There is no set date revealed yet as to when it will reopen at French Quarter.

Guests staying at French Quarter will not have to do totally without, though.

During the time that Sassagoula is under refurbishment, there will be a grab-and-go location set up at Scat Cat’s Club. Guests will be able to use cash or the Disney Dining Plan to purchase items such as beignets, gumbo, po-boys, jambalaya, and other great food.

Disney’s All-Star Resorts have done the grab-and-go locations a good bit in the past couple of years, and they worked out just fine.

If the grab-and-go is not enough, Guests at French Quarter can use bus transportation to head over to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and use the Riverside Mill Food Court. Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 12 a.m., that bus transportation will be available for Guests to use.

Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.

  1. No GF beignets during refurb? AAAAGH! My son loves the jambayla.

  2. Does anyone know if the dining hall wii be open by first of September? It sure seems like a big hassle to have to pick items up and eat in your room, or choose to go to Riverside, long walk with a 21/2 year old. Seems like if this is not going to be completed by this time, Disney should compensate guests with free dining plans or offer to switch reservations to a resort of their choice where food quart is not under construction. Hopefully, it will be open by first week of September.

  3. ive just booked and i asked they ^said completion date is 22nd november
