The daytime dance club hot-spot known as Club Disney at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be closing next week.
Yes, the location that just opened in the beginning of December will be closing sometime next week and it will become a seasonal offering. Club Disney was originally set to close in March, but that date has been moved up quite a bit.
UPDATE: Club Disney will not have regular daily operation on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, but will reopen on Jan. 31. Feb. 6, 2016, is going to be the FINAL DAY of daily operation. It will then become seasonal returning possibly for spring or summer or special occasions.
It has been revealed that the dance party will become a seasonal offering that shows up sporadically throughout the year. It’s not yet known what is going to be offered in place of Club Disney once it ceases daily operation.
Club Disney was a character dance party offered daily in the brand new Sunset Showcase building located at the end of Sunset Blvd. next to Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
It opened at the beginning of December and sold snacks, had characters dancing with Guests, had seating and charging areas for people to rest, and interactive paint screens for kids.
Ever since the Sunset Showcase “flex building” was being built, it was known that Disney would use it for various and different happenings. Club Villain, the nighttime dining event, is still taking place on Saturday nights through the end of February.
No word yet on whether that is being extended or not.
Disney has yet to publicly state that Club Disney is closing its daily operation, but sources and Cast Members have said it has been confirmed to them already. Things are always subject to change, but if you’re looking to definitely check it out…do it within the next week.
