Ever since the inception of FASTPass+ at Walt Disney World, it has been so that you can get three reservations to start. After a few months, the option for a 4th and 5th and 6th and so on selection was added in. Now, it appears as if it may soon be possible to get four FASTPass+ selections with your original reservations.
UPDATE: I’ve gotten word that this is a test currently going on. The random fourth FASTPass selection is being given at random parks during peak times. There is nothing you can do to try and get it and it may not happen all the time.
Over the weekend, Doctor Disney was in the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Epcot. FASTPass+ selections were made during these times, and as usual, we could select our original three to start.
Upon going to the next screen for confirmation of those three FASTPass+ selections, there was a fourth reservation added on for an attraction and time that we did not choose.
We thought it to be simply a glitch, but then it happened again at another park the next day. Then, for the third day in a row, it happened again and we began the day with four original FASTPass+ selections. Now, these were only available through the end of March, and we could not get it to happen as of April 1, 2015, and beyond.
This was a bit different than the BONUS FASTPass selection that used to be given out. There was no mention of a bonus or anything. It just happened and it just happened on a few particular days at the end of March, no further. Trust me, we tried.
Doctor Disney went and asked some Cast Members and Guest Relations, but there was not much to be said or known from anyone. It could be a glitch or it could have been a test or it could have just been a weird phenomenon. At this point, there isn’t a lot known, but it will be interesting to see what happens with FASTPass+ in the coming weeks and months.
