The crane at Walt Disney World has a bit of its own reputation, and it’s something that has become symbolic with two different times of year. Well, int first appeared at Magic Kingdom in mid-January and was supposed to be gone by now, but it’s going to be on site for a bit longer.
Originally set to be gone after Feb. 21, 2015, the crane is now set to be in place by Cinderella Castle through March 12, 2015, per my Magic Kingdom source.
It was in place after Christmas to take down the Dream Lights off of Cinderella Castle. Usually, there will be some touch-up painting and such done as well. Since the crane was put in place, there have been many days of inclement weather (cold, rain, high winds), which has halted work and prolonged it.
As is blatantly obvious, dates are subject to change and work could be done early or it could be prolonged again. Just know that March 12, 2015, is when they are looking to have the work completed and for the crane to be gone and out of there by March 13, 2015.
