The Sorcerer’s Hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is coming down and it seems like a little bit more is gone every single day. Here are some updated pictures as of January 26, 2015, and you can see the majority of the hat is completely down now.
You can see that all the white on the Mickey hand on the left of the hat is gone. The entire top portion of the Sorcerer’s Hat is also almost gone, and more is gone around the back and right side.
That small stage in front of the hat is for a convention that is happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this evening. So, before any other speculation begins, it’s not there for any big reason.
If you look at the pictures below, you can see that inside of the underneath of the hat has a number of holes and openings in it. Doesn’t appear that it will be around much longer at all.

Happy to see the hat go, but glad I’m not there right now. Kind of depressing to see a half-icon.
