The Sorcerer’s Hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is coming down and it seems like a little bit more is gone every single day. Here are some updated pictures as of January 21, 2015, and you can see that the top portion of the hat is completely gone now.
The view down Hollywood Blvd. is quite different now
The very top cone of the Sorcerer’s Hat is still sitting off to the left of the front, but giant pieces are being taken off each night. As you can see, the pieces are being taken off in jagged chunks and not in a symmetrical way whatsoever. To me, that doesn’t seem like it will ever be put back together in a different location and that it really is just being removed entirely.
Work has also begun on the left hand (viewed from front) holding the Sorcerer’s Hat, and portions of it have now been taken apart as well.
