Cold weather is coming down to Walt Disney World and it’s causing the closure of Blizzard Beach. Well, at least for a few days so those that are at the parks this week may be out of luck.
On Monday, December 8, Blizzard Beach ended up closing at 2 p.m. due to the cold weather and a ton of rain happening in the Disney area. Now, there is no rain in the forecast for the rest of the week, but temperatures are going to drop a lot.
Now, Disney has already announced that Blizzard Beach will be closed the rest of this week as temperatures are staying low. Yes, the water park will not be open through Friday, and is now tentatively scheduled to reopen on Saturday, December 13.
As of Monday evening, weather forecasts have temperatures at:
- Tuesday: High 66° and Low 43°
- Wednesday: High 60° and Low 39°
- Thursday: High 61° and Low 39°
- Friday: High 62° and Low 39°
The closure of Blizzard Beach means no Disney water parks will be open at all for a few days. Typhoon Lagoon is going through its annual refurbishment, and is closed through January 3, 2015.
