Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Catches On Fire At Magic Kingdom – Details

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train fireThere were many reports of a fire at the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and they turned out to be correct. Doctor Disney was in Fantasyland as it happened and I came out of Philharmagic to see the firetrucks spraying water at the top of the new attraction on the evening of Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014.

Not long after Wishes took place at the Magic Kingdom, Cast Members did advise me that a spark had landed on top of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. It caught some of the dry/dead grass on fired and it grew pretty decent in size.

Around 10:30 p.m., Reedy Creek Fire Department was on the scene and extinguished the fire quickly. The fire atop Seven Dwarfs Mine Train brought multiple firetrucks into Fantasyland and a number of officials into the attraction to make sure it was all clear after ti was put out.

Fantasyland was shut off on three sides of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with only the backside of the attraction accessible to guest traffic. They could not go around through Storybook Circus though.

Guests on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train were evacuated immediately and Cast Members confirmed that there were no injuries.

Despite numerous reports, there was no confirmation of structural damage to the attraction.

It was around 12:15 a.m., that the area in Fantasyland was beginning to open back up and Cast Members were saying that Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was preparing to reopen.

Here is video of firetrucks in Fantasyland after the fire was extinguished.
