Tower of Terror Begins New On-Board Video For Guests With MagicBands, Memory Maker

Tower of Terror on-board videoDisney is bringing forth yet another awesome souvenir that guests can take home, and it’s starting with Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests that have a MagicBand and have it linked to the Memory Maker will receive a souvenir on-board video.

It began with the Tower of Terror on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, and it’s the first attraction at Walt Disney World to do this new souvenir and it’s pretty awesome.

The way it happens is that after guests ride Tower of Terror – those with a MagicBand linked to the Memory Maker – will have an on-board video ready for them within a day. Guests can expect to see the video on their My Disney Experience account within 24 hours of the time they ride the attraction.

The on-board video will be caught, edited, and then uploaded automatically to their My Disney Experience account. This all comes from the whole MyMagic+ system which includes the MagicBands and RFID readers.

It is expected to come to other attractions soon as well as Tower of Terror.

For those guests that are not wearing a MagicBand with a linked Memory Maker account, the on-ride video is not available at this time.

There is no word on what other attractions could be included in the future, but Tower of Terror is the start.

This is very cool. I’ll be going with 3 first time riders in December. This will be a nice surprise for them the next day. This is an attraction I typically experience several times. Are they going to upload and retain every ride?

  2. Is it possible that this is part of the Haunted Mansion refurb in December?
