More Parking, Driving Changes Coming To Downtown Disney Area

Downtown Disney SpringsWith the Disney Springs construction continuing for quite some time, that means a lot of changes happening in the Downtown Disney area. That being said, there are some new changes in speed limits, roadways, parking, and entrances to Downtown Disney.

There are now speed restrictions in effect for Buena Vista Drive, the street which runs along the front of Downtown Disney.

The posted speed limit will be 35 mph until further notice. There will be a reduced amount of lanes in various locations as well, due to the construction on Downtown Disney. These restrictions and closures are going to take place from Hotel Plaza Boulevard to Bonnet Creek Parkway.

Some of the biggest and most problematic changes are going to be to the parking areas at Downtown Disney.

Only entrances 2 and 5 will soon be available for entry into and exit from Downtown Disney and the Disney West Side areas. There has not been a set date for that as of yet, but it is expected to begin sometime this week.

The entrances/exits that will be available are entrance/exit 5 across from Typhoon Lagoon and into Disney West Side. The other will be entrance/exit 2 which is across from the Hess Gas Station and leads into Downtown Disney.

Parking Lot L located behind the Cirque du Soleil theatre will also be partially closed for a temporary amount of time during July 2014.

All of this construction at Downtown Disney is to keep building toward Disney Springs, a new 10-lane Buena Vista Drive, new bus lanes, new pedestrian bridges, and the parking garages.
