Helicopter Spotted Over Magic Kingdom, Epcot For Possible Soarin’ Filming

Soarin'It was reported here last week that Walt Disney World would possibly start filming a new film for the Soarin’ attraction at Epcot. Well, it appears as if filming has begun as the helicopter was briefly seen at Epcot over the past weekend and on Monday, April 28, 2014, it was hovering around Magic Kingdom.

The rumors of a new film for Soarin‘ have been ongoing for about a year now, and a bit longer actually. Now, it seems like things are finally starting to come to light and the “Soarin’ Around the World” movie is being made.

Reports have stated that a helicopter was around Epcot over the past weekend, but that it never stayed long and didn’t seem take a lot of footage.

On Monday, while checking out the new FASTPass+ changes, a helicopter was spotted filming and flying very low at the Magic Kingdom.

For a while, the helicopter hovered around Cinderella Castle and took some footage from all sides.

The helicopter was later seen over in Tomorrowland and flying rather low over Space Mountain to get some footage.

It wasn’t easily visible on Main Street, but seeing it in Tomorrowland, the camera could be seen attached to the very front nose of the helicopter.

There is no word as to whether or not this is actually for the new Soarin’ film, but it is very possible. Any new commercials coming out soon are likely to be focused on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and not much else.

No confirmation has been given to Disney about a new Soarin’ film, but it’s most likely on the way and we all hope it is soon.
