‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’ has been canceled by ABC as of Friday, March 28, 2014, and will get no more than the one season.
It was actually revealed on Thursday evening that next week’s “season finale” is actually its “series finale.”
Disney and ABC have realized that only having 3.3 million watching ‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’ is not nearly enough to keep it on the air. So for those that watch it, hope next week’s episode wraps it all up properly.
‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’ was actually conceived as a one-season, stand-alone story. There was the hope that it would be popular enough to stretch into a second season and possibly beyond.
Obviously, that isn’t meant to be and all episodes will have aired once next week’s series finale is done. Check it out on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. EST.
“Once Upon a Time” is still doing quite well, and is expected to return for yet another season after the current one concludes. Still, it has not been officially renewed just yet.
Beginning on April 10, 2014, ABC will air a special episode of “Shark Tank” before turning over the timeslot for ‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’ to repeats of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
