The cold weather around the country isn’t just in the north. Orlando and the Walt Disney World area have been experiencing some really cold temperatures lately as well. Those cold temps have called for the closures and reduced hours of a number of things around Disney.
~ Typhoon Lagoon is going to be closed today (Jan. 22, 2014) and tomorrow (Jan. 23, 2014) due to the cold temperatures. Blizzard Beach is also not open, but it’s currently closed until March for its annual refurbishment.
~ Main pools at Walt Disney World Resort hotels will operate on reduced and adjusted hours. The main pools – the ones that have lifeguards – will only be open from around noon until 6:00 p.m.
So far, this is only being called for on Jan. 22, 2014, but it is likely to continue through the week and maybe even into next week. Always ask your resort’s front desk for info.
~ Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is closed today (Jan. 22, 2014) due to the colder temperatures.
