Housekeeper at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort accused of stealing from guests

A housekeeper at Walt Disney World’s Art of Animation Resort has been accused of stealing from guests while they are on their vacations.

Bay News reports that Emely Santiago stole cash and a credit card from the resort room of one of the guests.

The theft was said to have happened in May 2013, and she was busted when attempting to use the credit card at a Wal-Mart in Kissimmee. After the investigation, it is possible that Santiago could be connected to other thefts at the resort which included cash, prescription medications, and jewelry.

Santiago has since admitted she has an addiction to pain killers.

While many people may jump the gun here and start saying that Disney Resorts are unsafe and all that…let it be known that every single room on Walt Disney World property has a safe inside of them. They are usually located in the area where you can hang your clothes, but that can vary.

Crime happens. It just does. But Disney has already given you the precautions to help lessen that. Take advantage of them.
